Spider-Man was created in the 60's by Marvel Comics. Peter Parker, a lonely but clever schoolboy, became Spider-Man after being bitten by a spider on a school trip to a science exhibition. His spider like powers including the ability to spin webs and swing off buildings are used by Peter to fight crime. This hugely popular super hero has featured in many comic books, television, cartoons and films.
