South Park was initially created in the early 1990's by Trey Parker and Matt Stone while at University. The show wasn't aired until 1997 by Comedy Central when they were asked to write a series for them. The cartoon comedy's original main characters were four boys, third grade students, named Cartmen, Kenny, Kyle and Stan. South Park has had 174 episodes aired and is currently in it's 12th season.
